STAMPEDE CLUB INITIATIVE

When Myers Park High School's Stampede Club founder and president, Matt Jackson, read where families stand in line at the doors to Crisis Assistance Ministries well before dawn, clinging to their last hope for help with basic needs such as shelter, heat, and lights, he knew the club had to help. It was a perfect fit with the club's mission to partner students with community agencies to address the needs of the community. Club members sold Charlotte Citipass books as their fundraiser for Crisis Assistance. The promise of a match, dollar for dollar, of all donations made the club's fundraiser even more rewarding. Club members raised $330, which will be doubled by the matching gift from Susan and Al Winget. By supporting Crisis Assistance Ministries, the Stampede Club is helping prevent homelessness, as well as providing hope for families in need in the Charlotte community.
